Lulu boss Yusuffali MA has been voted top of Hello! Indo-Arabia’s first ever listing of the region’s 25 richest and most powerful Indians.
The multi-billionaire, who has a car collection alone worth $100m and runs the 165th biggest retailer on the planet, came first ahead of Stallion Group boss Sunil Vaswani. Founder of VPS Healthcare Dr Shamsheer Vayalil took third place, while SKAI Holdings boss Kabir Mulchandani and Thumbay Group owner Dr Thumbay Moideen made up the top five.
Danube’s Rizwan Sajan was ranked 6th, while another Lulu executive – Lulu International Exchange boss Adeeb Ahamed was seventh.
The magazine placed Sykline University’s Kamal Puri and eighth place, with Jashanmal Group boss Tony Jashanmal and high flying lawyer Ashish Mehta making up the rest of the top ten.
A spokesman for Hello! Indo Arabia said: “This is the first ever list to look at both influence and wealth. It shows that the Indian community in the GCC have achieved remarkable success over a range of sectors.”
