Fast food giant McDonald’s will be rolling out new changes to some of its most popular menu items, which includes the Big Mac and the McDouble, among other things.
The changes will be made to develop the flavour of its top-performing burgers and these improvements will include four main changes.
The changes are: better, softer buns, consistently melted cheese, a better sear on the patties and more Big Mac sauce. For searing, McDonald’s will add white onions while the patties are on the grill to improve flavour.
Small McDonald’s changes makes a ‘big difference’
“I’ll always remember my first burger from McDonald’s. And now my culinary team and I have the best job in the world: thinking about ways to bring even more of that iconic McDonald’s taste to fans,” McDonald’s USA senior director of culinary innovation Chad Schafer said in a statement.
“We found that small changes, like tweaking our process to get hotter, meltier cheese and adjusting our grill settings for a better sear, added up to a big difference in making our burgers more flavourful than ever,” he added.
McDonald’s will roll out the new changes in Los Angeles, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Sacramento, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Denver, Boise and Tucson, with many stores in the surrounding area to also participate.
McDonald’s “customers will be able to taste the difference at all restaurants nationwide by 2024,” the statement added.
