Luxury brand shoppers (54 percent) in the UAE and Saudi Arabia buy some brands without looking at the price tag, according to a new YouGov report. The brands that topped the charts with these shoppers are Gucci, Calvin Klein, and Dior.
Over 38 percent of shoppers in the UAE and Saudi Arabia are “luxury aficionados” – willing to pay more for luxury brands. Most of these shoppers were male (74 percent) between the age of 25 to 34.
Most ‘luxury aficionados’ in both countries said that they like trying new brands with over 60 percent revealing that they cannot resist fancy packaging.
Although the shopping trend according to this survey demonstrates a splurge mindset, 70 percent of luxury shoppers indicated that they are now more careful with their finances than they used to be.

The survey revealed that over 54 percent of these luxury shoppers like “wasting time shopping at airports.” The most preferred aircraft by this segment was Emirates and Saudia at 37 percent and 41 percent respectively.

The survey was conducted on a sample size of 1,860 people in Saudi Arabia and 3,605 in the UAE.
