Acer plans new product assault

The exhibition halls housing this year’s GITEX Shopper will be transformed into hunting grounds, as Acer plans to make its key attraction the Aspire ‘Predator’ high-end gaming PC.

The exhibition halls housing this year’s GITEX Shopper will be transformed into hunting grounds, as Acer plans to make its key attraction the Aspire ‘Predator’ high-end gaming PC.

The PC vendor will offer four different configurations of the Predator: the Sniper II, Trooper II, Crusher II and last but not least, the Eliminator II.

The Sniper II is the entry-level model in the range whilst the Eliminator II is said to be an all-out performance monster.

Acer is confident that the Predator is the best fit for the demanding needs of Middle East gamers.

“The Middle East gaming industry is one of the fastest growing in the world,” said Brian Bogaard, Acer Europe’s product business manager for desktop PCs.

“Gamers have been demanding a machine with the specifications capable of bringing to life the complex virtual worlds in which they live. Predator more than meets that demand.”

Acer and its partners will also be promoting digital cameras, LCD screens, PDAs and new notebooks featuring Intel’s Core2 Duo processor.

Other products on Acer’s GITEX Shopper showcase hitlist include the Aspire One and Gemstone Blue notebook.

According to Aman Khan, marketing and communications manager, Acer Middle East, Turkey and Africa, GITEX Shopper provides the opportunity to showcase new products.

“Acer is always looking to introduce innovative and state-of-the-art products to its Middle East customers and sees GITEX Shopper as an ideal event within the Middle East to access both distributors and customers. Acer has many plans for GITEX Shopper, which will be revealed at the event,” he says. “We always have surprises for Shopper and this year will be no exception.”
