Gulf Blackberry users can now use their mobile handsets as paperless boarding passes when checking in for British Airways flights, the UK based carrier said this week.

In July, British Airways launched the Mobile Boarding Pass application for iPhone users and the application has now been extended to BlackBerry users.

The facility allows passengers to get up-to-date flight information and can be substituted for a printed boarding pass.

It’s understood the app will be available to Android-operated mobile smartphones in December.

More than 250,000 customers have downloaded the app since its July launch, with around 30,000 iPhone users taking up the service.

BA currently operates 67 weekly flights from eight Middle East markets to the UK.
