BenQ grows sales by 30% in Saudi

Demand for high end consumer goods helps BenQ build market share in Saudi Arabia

BenQ has reported that it grew sales by almost 30% in Saudi Arabia in the first half of 2008.

The hardware and electronics vendor said that it extended its business across key lines, including LCD monitors, with sales up 20%, projectors which grew 40% and LCD TVs, which grew by 50%.

Overall, Saudi Arabia accounts for around 20% of sales for BenQ in the MENA region.

The company now plans to expand its retail presence in the Kingdom, with a dedicated BenQ Zone store in Riyadh, and to increase its local sales team.

Manish Bakshi, general manager, BenQ, Middle East and Africa said: “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia holds huge potential for BenQ, and Saudi Arabian consumers have already responded exceptionally well to BenQ’s product offerings, particularly at the higher end of the spectrum. With such strong economic prospects backed by sound regulatory framework, we are well placed to benefit from the sustained economic expansion in KSA.”
