Activating an eSIM is now possible through the UAE PASS app with Virgin Mobile UAE, marking a first for the country’s telecom industry.
The UAE PASS is a national digital ID that allows citizens and residents to securely access thousands of public and private sector services online. The app also enables digital document requests and signatures.
Customers can now download the Virgin Mobile UAE app, choose a phone number and plan, verify their identity through the UAE PASS app, and get an eSIM installed in just a few minutes without the need for a physical store visit or SIM card delivery.
The new digital-first approach not only makes it easier for customers to obtain a SIM, but it is also more environmentally friendly.
