The Saudi General Authority for Roads announced the use of drones for ensuring safety and quality of the road network in the holy sites during the current pilgrimage season.
The drone technology will work thermally to monitor observations on the road network.
Besides, drones will also be used for examining ferries and bridges automatically, quickly and accurately.
The Public Authority for Roads said it has harnessed many modern technologies, including survey and evaluation techniques and equipment.
The Authority has also used drone technology to automate survey work, raise quality, and enable decision-making.
