Technogym makes waves in the UAE

Wellness Solutions introduces the Cardio Wave machine from Technogym

Wellness Solutions introduced the Cardio Wave exercise machine from Technogym to the health and fitness industry in the UAE at two events held in Abu Dhabi and Dubai in April.

In the hope of addressing the negative consequences of today’s sedentary lifestyles, Technogym researched and developed the new product over the course of three years, striving to create a workout that would be fun and easy.

“The Cardio Wave machines are more fun than the average cardio machine,” said James Allen, general manager of Wellness Solutions at the Dubai product launch. “Users get a better workout in a smaller space and in less time. Even universities agree — tests show that Wave helps the user glide their way to better results in less time, consuming more calories and firming the core efficiently.”

Cardio Wave works not only on the gluteus maximus, but also on the medius and minimus gluteus. The core stabiliser muscles and the lower limbs can also be simultaneously exercised to optimise muscle-toning benefits. The product is suitable for users of all fitness levels, including complete beginners, and ensures high calorie spending and deep muscle toning through a variety of different training positions.

“By choosing the training position that targets the muscles they most want to tone, users can change the activation level on the specific muscles used in the exercise,” explained Allen. “Exercise is performed on three different planes of movement at the same time, whereas conventional cardio exercise usually uses machines that work on a single plane.”

This concept of so-called “multiplanar” cardio exercise combines extension, abduction and external rotation planes of movement in one exercise. By means of the patent-pending Ergostride biomechanics it is possible to adjust the user’s foot position in three alignments during the movement to ensure the correct posture is maintained during the workout.

Training on Cardio Wave is a non-impact activity, making it safe for all users and the co-ordinated intervention of all muscle groups and the movement control demanded by this type of exercise has been proven to strengthen all muscles and joints involved in the movement of the knee. The movement also has an intrinsic beat, which facilitates training to music.

“The charismatic rhythm of the machine makes clients want to move. It allows people to train to their own rhythm or to music, which is a unique feature among cardio equipment,” said Allen. “The machines include the Wellness TV and headphones for private listening.”

The Cardio Wave machines are already in use at several hotels and health clubs in the UAE, and distributors Wellness Solutions are confident that it will soon be able to boast an even longer list of customers. “The Rotana Beach Hotel in Abu Dhabi and the Grand Hyatt in Dubai are just two of our existing customers. The Wave machines are installed and being used at these hotels already, and have been very well received so far,” said Dana Musoiu, administration co-ordinator at Wellness Solutions.

“The launch event was a tremendous success and has generated a great deal of interest from other hotels, clubs and private users in the UAE and as awareness grows about the product, it will no doubt be a big hit here.”
