Whirlpool Corporation has completed the sale of its Hoover floor-care business to Techtronic Industries (TTI) for US$107 million.
The deal sees TTI gain operational control of Hoover, including its manufacturing plants in the US and Mexico.
Whirlpool is the world’s biggest home appliance manufacturer, with annual sales of more than US$19 billion and around 80,000 employees, while TTI primarily manufactures home improvement tools under a variety of monikers including the AEG and Ryobi brand names.
