Fast growing Nigerian carrier Medview airlines has said it will commence operations from Lagos to Dubai via Abuja on 7 December.
The airline will fly three times weekly to Dubai with return flights to Lagos on Tuesday and Thursday according to schedules posted on its website.
Statements by the airline’s CEO to local press state it is working with travel agents across Nigeria to offer passengers an all-inclusive package including flights, accommodation, and visas as well as additional baggage allowances on business class tickets.
Medview had previously announced it would commence operations to Dubai in July pending delivery of a new Boeing 777. It received the aircraft in September.
Nigeria’s currency crisis in 2016 had forced Emirates to curtail operations to Abuja and United Airlines to cancel flights to the country entirely in 2016.
However, with a recovery in the Nigerian Naira, air travel demand is picking up again. Emirates has announced it will resume its four times weekly service to Abuja from December 15.
