Careem, the prominent Everything App in the region, has revealed a notable increase in airport rides and school transportation services in recent months.
The company’s data showed a massive rise in trips to and from Dubai International Airport (DXB) during June, July, and August, compared to the preceding months of March, April, and May.
Eid Al Fitr, celebrated on April 21, 2023, played a key role in boosting Careem’s airport rides to over 32,700 in April.
However, the numbers surged even higher in May, with over 42,300 rides recorded. The peak came in June 2023, with a total of over 48,400 airport bookings.
This surge is due to the end of the academic year, as schools closed for the summer break, causing families to travel.
During this period, DXB Terminal 3 emerged as the busiest international terminal in Dubai, experiencing substantial month-on-month growth, with over 126,000 airport rides in the summer months.
“Thousands of travellers in Dubai trust Careem to get to and from the airport safely and on time – especially during peak travel months. We remain committed to simplifying transportation for our customers and providing a service that is reliable, affordable, and convenient,” Antonio Al Asmar, General Manager for Careem UAE said.

Careem’s School Rides gain traction
In addition to airport rides, Careem’s ‘School Rides‘ service, offered in collaboration with Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA), has gained significant traction.
In the first three weeks of the new term, over 5,100 school rides were completed, with more than 70 percent of families choosing to renew their packages this year. Since its inception, over 10,000 School Rides have been booked through the rideshare app.
Ride-sharing app’s ‘School Rides’ service starts from just AED13 per ride and averages AED20, offering parents a convenient and cost-effective school transportation option.
Regardless of demand, parents can save up to 40 percent compared to regular bookings, thanks to Careem’s fixed pricing model.
To avail themselves of airport rides or ‘School Rides’ packages, customers can download or open the app.
