Flexible function space from Four Seasons

New Four Seasons Golf Club is already a popular venue choice.

The new Four Seasons Golf Club is already proving a popular venue choice for a wide range of events, according to the facility’s general manager, Bahram Sepahi.

“We are booked up with small meetings and a number of social events already,” he told

“One of the key selling points of the club is the unique spaces and we are already targeting our [marketing and sales] campaign at the network of people Four Seasons has come to know over the years.”

Corporate clients and golfers using the club’s facilities were already taking advantage of the venues it had to offer he added. These include four “distinct meeting and catering areas” with settings ranging from private meeting rooms and function rooms with high-tech facilities, to a golf-course-view lawn for open-air receptions of up to 1000 guests.

“We offer a fantastic social setting; it’s something completely different to the traditional hotel venue,” said Sepahi. “We have also brought together a great culinary team that can create menus for any occasion, from weddings to corporate merger lunches.”

F&B outlets include Italian restaurant Quattro, contemporary indoor and outdoor dining area, Blades, the casual outlet known as Spikes where meals and snacks are available, and the Tee lounge inside the striking spiral glass atrium.

The golf club also features a gallery area and has already attracted visiting collections from famous artists including Picasso and Andy Warhol.

Sepahi has employed a team of event planners dedicated to organising catering, conference and meetings services.

Located in Dubai Festival City (DFC), just five minutes from Dubai International Airport, Four Seasons Golf Club is the group’s first such golf product in the Middle East and its 11th globally.

Features include the 7303-yard Al Badia course, designed by world-renowned golf architect Robert Trent Jones II, complemented by luxurious locker rooms that include a jacuzzi, rain shower, steam, sauna, and lounge areas.

Additional facilities include a golf academy comprising a floodlit driving range, dedicated on-and-around the green practice area, and a practice putting green.

According to Sepahi, the club currently boasts 83 members, both individual and corporate, with a target to reach just 150 members in order to retain exclusivity.

Phase two of the project, to be completed in 2009, will see a country club built on the site, featuring a fitness centre, spa, indoor racquet sports facilities, a lap pool and recreation facilities for kids to include indoor and outdoor play areas and sports coaching courses, appealing to members and local residents.

And last, but not least, a Four Seasons property will open in 2010 featuring 383 room and 25 fractional units.

“The hotel will be located on the marina and connected to a mall with luxury retailers,” Sepahi explained.

Due to the property’s many recreation facilities as well as its close proximity to DFC’s convention facilities, Sepahi said he expected it to attract “a healthy mix” of leisure and corporate clients.

“We will provide water vessels to shuttle people to all the nearby attractions and also offer services such as dinner cruises,” he added.
