Cash-strapped Indian airline Go First announced cancelling all its flights till May 12, mounting troubles for its harried passengers.
“… due to operational reasons, Go First flights scheduled till 12th May 2023 have been cancelled,” the airline said in a tweet.
“We acknowledge the flight cancellations might have disrupted your travel plans and we are committed to providing all the assistance we can,” the airline said.
The Wadia group-owned carrier has filed a plea for voluntary insolvency resolution proceedings before India’s insolvency court – the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), but the tribunal reserved its order on Thursday.
The airline has blamed engine-maker Pratt & Whitney for its fresh troubles and said that their faulty engines have resulted in the grounding of 50 per cent of its fleet.
The Indian aviation regulator, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), had issued a show cause notice to the airline after it suddenly decided to cancel flights earlier.
