Zuma, the internationally acclaimed contemporary Japanese izakaya restaurant, has officially opened its doors in Riyadh, now open for lunch and dinner.
Located in the King Abdullah Financial District, the new Zuma restaurant spans two floors, developed through a strategic partnership with Saudi hospitality investment and management company, MJS Holding.
The venue features interactive sushi and robata counters, offering guests a front-row view of the restaurant’s culinary artistry.
Mohammed Jawa, Founder and Chairman of MJS Holding, described the opening as the realisation of a 13-year pursuit.
“Zuma Riyadh’s opening is the realisation of a 13-year pursuit, born from a personal dream and a vision for Saudi. Zuma has been an inspiration to the luxury dining and lifestyle scene since my first steps into this world back in 2014. Today, I am thrilled to see this dream materialise through a partnership that not only elevates the Saudi market but also brings immense value and credibility to our thriving luxury sector. Zuma marks the beginning of a new era in Saudi,” he said.
The Riyadh location incorporates natural elements like stone and wood. The restaurant offers three private dining rooms and an event space, alongside a bar and a dedicated DJ counter.
The menu showcases Zuma’s signature dishes with a regional twist. Standout offerings include:
- Miso Marinated Black Cod wrapped in oba leaf
- Oven-roasted Barley Miso Corn-fed Baby Chicken
- Salt Grilled Seabass with burnt tomato and ginger relish
A special regional dessert has been crafted for the Riyadh location: an Ajwa Date and Miso Toffee Cake, served with ginger crumble, poached pears, and sweet corn mochi ice cream.
Reservations are now open and can be made online or by phone. The restaurant recommends advance bookings to ensure a table.
Rainer Becker, Co-Founder of Azumi said: “The opening of Zuma Riyadh is a proud moment for us. With each new location, we bring not just exceptional food but also a complete experience that reflects the local culture while maintaining our DNA. Riyadh holds incredible promise, and we are proud to welcome guests to this vibrant restaurant, and we look forward to making Zuma a highlight of Riyadh’s culinary scene.”
