The Expo 2020 Dubai will be a ‘foodie destination’ as a selection of UAE-based cafés, restaurants and food trucks will feature at the six month event including the iconic The Irish Village.
Darren Tse, director of Concessions and Programming, Commercial, Expo 2020 Dubai said: “Expo 2020 will be a foodie destination in its own right and we urge visitors to bring a hefty appetite so they can explore the wonderful diversity and generous hospitality that the UAE is renowned for.”
Local favourites that will also have outlets at the Expo 2020 include Emirati traditional concept Arabian Tea House, Indian restaurant Al Farwania, Chinese café Seashell, Filipino spot Dampa Seafood Grill, Lebanese bakeries Al Reef Bakery and Al Khabbaz, popular Arabic sweets shop Firas Sweets and camel milk-inspired Majlis Café.
Irish hub
The Irish Village outlet at Expo 2020 Dubai will be located beside the Irish pavilion, and close to the 15,000 Jubilee Park venue where many of the live entertainment events will take place.

Arabian Tea House founder Ali Al Rais said: “I am very excited that Arabian Tea House, the first Emirati restaurant, will be showcased to millions of international visitors at The World’s Greatest Show. I believe that the best way to explore different cultures is through food, and Expo 2020 offers the perfect opportunity and platform to demonstrate Emirati hospitality.”
Newer brands include Saj 2 Go, Doh, Hummus Spot, Rogue Coffee, Twisty Treats and Flower Café.
Shine a light on Dubai
Tse said the homegrown brands will add “colour and texture to Expo’s offering” and “shine a light on Dubai’s fun and flourishing food scene, and inspire millions of visitors to Expo 2020 to try some tantalising flavours from here in the UAE and around the globe.”
The local restaurants will join over 200 F&B outlets at the Expo 2020 spanning street food to celebrity chefs and offering more than 50 cuisines to suit every palate and budget.
From 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021, Expo 2020 Dubai will welcome 192 participating countries and an expected 25 million visits. It is expected to be the largest event ever held in the Arab world.
