The Asia Cup 2023 is set to commence with its first match taking place on Wednesday, August 30 at 1:30PM (GST).

The tournament will conclude on September 17, 2023 with the finals being held in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The first match will be played by Pakistan and Nepal in a One Day International (ODI) format at the Multan Cricket Stadium in Pakistan. The match sold over 25,000 tickets.

The tournament will be played in the 50-over format among six teams: India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

  • Co-hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka the 2023 Asia Cup is the 16th edition of the tournament.
  • This year will mark Nepal’s debut in the tournament who qualified by winning the inaugural ACC Men’s Premier Cup 2023.
  • Recent editions of the Asia Cup have alternated between ODI and T20I formats. However, this year will be played in the ODI format.
  • India is the team with the highest number of wins in the tournament with seven titles.
  • Sri Lanka are the defending champions and hold the second highest wins in the tourament with six titles.
  • There will be 13 games played between August 30 to September 17.
  • The group stage of the tournament will be played from 30 August to 5 September.
  • The final will be hosted at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka on 17 September.
