Covid-19: UAE announces 380 new cases, two deaths

UAE health authorities have detected 380 new confirmed cases of Covid-19, it was announced on Tuesday.

According to the UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP), the new cases bring the UAE’s total to 45,683.

Additionally, two more deaths were reported. Bringing the UAE’s total death toll to 305.

A further 657 recoveries were reported. To date, 33,703 recoveries have been recorded.

Earlier on Tuesday, the UAE Ministry of Education outlined the safety measures that will be needed for schools to reopen this year.

Anoud Abdullah Al-Hajj, Ministry of Education spokesperson, said the measures include taking temperatures of all students and teachers, and workers, on a daily basis.

The strict controls would also include applying two metres of social distancing in schools and reducing the capacity of classrooms. All educational facilities should also be sterilised on a periodic basis.
