The UAE is looking to boost labour market by attracting skilled workers to the country.
Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, met with Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of Vietnam.
The UAE and Vietnam have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding workforce.
UAE-Vietnam labour relations
The MoU aims to strengthen collaboration on labour-related issues to facilitate the participation of trained Vietnamese workers in the UAE job market.
It also involves exchanging studies and supportive information related to labour, as well as ensuring compliance with labour laws and legislations.
Both sides emphasised their commitment to developing relations, particularly in labour and worker-related areas to ensure mutual benefits from increasing the contribution of Vietnamese workers in the UAE job market, which is known for talent attraction and its competitiveness.
The meeting also explored a set of recently approved systems and legislations in the UAE that provide legal coverage and social protection for all workers in the country.
This includes the recent adoption of the voluntary alternative end-of-service savings scheme, known as the “Savings Scheme”, which allows participants to benefit from investment returns on their savings to ensure financial sustainability.

Also on the list is the Unemployment Insurance Scheme, which registered more than 6.7m participants in less than a year since its launch in January 2023, and the Worker Protection Programme, among other innovative schemes that allow the UAE labour market to stand out, while ensuring stability and wellbeing for workers, protecting their rights on equal footing with their employers.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, signing on behalf of the United Arab Emirates and Dao Ngoc Dung, Minister of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs of Vietnam, representing his country.
