China Mall management receives $1.6m support from Ajman Free Zone

A statement from AFZ said the move is designed to help investors and partners during the current coronavirus pandemic.

Ajman Free Zone (AFZ) has revealed a AED6 million ($1.6m) support package for the Gulf Chinese Trading Corporation, which operates China Mall Ajman.

The financial support will cover the rent of the mall for up to three months.

A statement from AFZ said the move is designed to help investors and partners during the current coronavirus pandemic.

Last week, Ajman announced the temporary closure of wedding venues, fitness clubs, cinemas and theme parks as part of precautionary measures to mitigate the spread of coronavirus.

Shopping malls have also installed thermal surveillance equipment to monitor the temperatures of visitors.

On Saturday, the UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) announced the first two deaths caused by Covid-19 in the country.

There are currently 153 confirmed cases in the UAE.
