Danube chairman Rizwan Sajan says looking to capitalise on Dubai's booming hospitality industry
Danube Group has launched Danube Hospitality Solutions, a $5 million arm that will cater to the growing hospitality needs of the region.
The new venture has partnered with 18 brands from seven factories around the world to supply, apply, design, redesign, refurbish and offer consultancy services within the hospitality industry.
Brands include William Edwards, Milano, IVV, Dartington Crystal and Matfer Bourgeat.
Adel Sajan, director of Danube Group, said: “It’s not about the money we’ve invested. The value lies in the assets in terms of the relationships. The biggest investment we have today is we have 18 of the top brands invested along with us. We’ve spent a lot of time building a team who are top notch interior designers, top notch people who will be able to cater to the different hotel projects.”
Sajan revealed the new company is already working with 15 projects which are in the design stage and said their focus was on MENA region and India.
Danube Hospitality Solutions covers Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment and Operating Supplies & Equipment (OS&E).
More than a third of all hotel rooms being added in the Middle East and Africa are being built in the UAE, according figures released by hotel industry analysts STR last month.
It revealed the UAE has a total of 56,701 rooms under construction, which will increase the country's supply by 33.6 percent.
It is this demand that Danube Group chairman is hoping to capitalise on. He said: “The proposition (Danube Hospitality Solutions) came to me last year. We never thought this was going to be a big business, but when the numbers came to us, I was really astonished by the huge potential that is there from the amount of hotels being built here.
“I immediately capitalised on it and said let’s do it.”For all the latest travel news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
