of concrete was poured between March 22-23.

“Pouring this volume of special self-compacting concrete needs a high-efficiency, precision-based operation as well as excellent coordination … between RMB and DCC,” said an RMB representative.

The Emirates’ largest concrete raft will support Al Durrah Tower, a 50-storey residential building comprising 474 apartments, a spa, swimming pool and squash courts. Atkins is the consultant on the project, which is due to be completed in November 2008.

Dubai Contracting Company was established in 1961; Ready Mixed Beton was founded in 1975 and deals in the production and supply of ready-mix concrete.
