Emirates Internet and Multimedia (EIM) is two thirds of the way through its Internet awareness for schools campaign. Following a series of seminars in Sharjah schools earlier this month and Fujairah last week, the programme will move to Al Ain as the Internet service provider aims to convince schools of the Web’s potential as an education tool.“EIM’s Internet awareness campaign is playing an important role in encouraging the use of the Internet as a modern learning tool in the UAE education process” say’s Abdulah Hashem, senior manager, sales & business development, EIM.The programmes main objective is to promote the Internet among school administrators and persuade them that Internet not only as a vast source of information for both teachers and students but also as a convenient communication medium between schools and homes.“The integration of the Internet into the educational process can greatly enhance communication between students and teachers, and encourage teamwork amongst students,” explains Abdulla Hashim, senior manager, business development & sales, EIM. “No longer is the learning experience restricted to school timings and premises, but can be extended throughout the day through virtual classrooms and at the convenience of all parties,” he adds.
