PSG’s Achraf Hakimi under investigation on rape charges

The Moroccan player has been accused by a 24-year-old woman of alleged rape on February 25

Achraf Hakimi, Paris-Saint Germain (PSG) player and defender for the Morocco national team is currently under investigation by French authorities. The investigation began after he was accused by a 24-year-old woman of alleged rape at his home in Boulogne-Billancourt while his family vacationed in Dubai, according to reports by French Media.

The rape allegedly took place on February 25, after which the woman went to the police to make a statement without filing an official complaint. The police, following the statement, opened an investigation into Hakimi due to the severity of the allegations provided.

The 24-year-old Moroccan footballer reportedly started talking to the woman on January 18 via Instagram, he then invited her over to his home in Paris while his family was away on vacation.

Hakimi has not yet responded to the allegations.

Achraf Hakimi is a Moroccan footballer who currently plays as a right-back for French club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and the Moroccan national team. Born on November 4, 1998, in Madrid, Spain.

Hakimi began his football career at the youth academy of Real Madrid before making his professional debut for the club’s B team in 2016.

It was during his two-year loan spell at Borussia Dortmund from 2018 to 2020 that Hakimi scored 12 goals and provided 17 assists in 73 appearances for the German club.

The player’s performances at Dortmund earned him a move to Italian giants Inter Milan in the summer of 2020. He then joined PSG in July 2021 for a reported fee of €60 million.
