Finnish security software vendor Stonesoft, fresh from opening its Middle East regional headquarters last month, has appointed Abu Dhabi-based systems integrator Bayanat Data Processing Systems (DPS) as a strategic channel partner.
DPS has over 20 years experience in the Middle East serving vertical markets such as banking, telecoms, oil and gas, and high-end service sectors — prime targets for Stonesoft. DPS will implement Stonesoft’s combined firewall, virtual private network and intrusion detection system, for major enterprises in the region. As well as installing the StoneGate solution for clients, DPS will also provide sales support, training, and round the clock mission-critical backup.
“Ensuring the security of their networks is now the top issue for IT decision-makers in the enterprise market. While all major organizations and government departments have systems in place, not all have adequate cover to protect their information systems from attack,” said Georges Hannouche, managing director, DPS.

Stonesoft has been in talks with numerous potential customers and partners since its regional launch. The company is poised to announce the deployment of its solution with a major public sector enterprise shortly. Given Stonesoft’s enterprise focus, expect more high-end channel partners with IT services capabilities to join its regional channel.
