Accor Hospitality Middle East and Action Hotels are set to develop Ras Al Khaimah’s first Ibis Hotel.

Construction of the property will begin by the end of this year, and should be completed in the first quarter of 2011.

Details of contracts have not been released.

The new hotel will comprise 180 rooms, a restaurant and a café and will be centrally located in the commercial area of Ras Al Khaimah, close to the exhibition centre and the Free Zone.

Ibis has a strong presence in the GCC and Jordan with properties in Kuwait, UAE, Jordan, Oman and Bahrain. Ibis Salmiya in Kuwait was the most recent to open last March.

Ibis Ras Al Khaimah is the 17th Ibis hotel confirmed in the Middle East and Pakistan.
