Dubai skies to see rare 50,000-year-old comet pass through

UAE residents and visitors can observe the comet at Al Qudra Desert

A rare 50,000-year-old comet will grace Dubai skies on February 4, Saturday.

The comet, named Comet C/2022 E3, will once again be the closest it has been to the sun since the last ice age, before passing by the Earth.

UAE residents and visitors can observe the comet at Al Qudra Desert on February 4, 2023 from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM by registering themselves via the Dubai Astronomy website.

Tickets for general public start at AED120, whereas tickets for kids under 13 years and DAG members are priced at AED100 and AED70, respectively.

Transport will also be arranged for those who want to witness the comet, with pick up arranged at Centerpoint Metro Station (Rashidiya Park Parking) at 4.45 PM at a fee of AED50 per person.
