One of the most breath-taking stunts ever recorded in Dubai has been captured on camera.

American thrillseeker Brian Grubb was pulled along the 294m high infinity pool on the roof of the Address Beach Resort hotel by a custom-built drone before jumping over barriers and parachuting 77 stories down to the beach below.

The so-called “wakebase” jump combined elements of wakeboarding and basejumping and was performed to promote Red Bull and Prada.

Brian Grubb said: “I just started ten years or so ago as a pipe dream and it has been a dream of mine to do this since then.

“It’s been a long time coming we had to build a drone that could pull us so I had to get more proficient at base jumping.

“And then we found this awesome location here in Dubai and we put everything together and we just pulled off the sickest thing I’ve ever done on a wakeskate for sure.”

Red Bull has a history of high-rise stunts in the region. Earlier this year it helped a stuntperson walked a sparkling tightrope between two sides of the crescent-shaped Katara Towers in Lusail, Qatar.

Last year a Red Bull pilot landed a plane on Dubai’s iconic Burj Al Arab helipad. The Burj Al Arab helipad is 212m above sea level and corresponds with the hotel’s 56th floor.
