The Lulu Group has broken ground on what will become India’s second-largest shopping centre, the $300 million Lulu Mall in the Keralan city of Thiruvananthapuram.
The mall is spread over a 19-acre space located next to the National Highway in the Akkulam district of the city.
Scheduled to be completed by early 2019, the mall will house a Lulu hypermarket as an anchor store, alongside a 150-room hotel and convention centre.
The centre will also feature a food court, a family amusement centre, and a nine-screen cinema.
Lulu Group is currently developing another mall in Kochi, which will be India’s biggest when completed.
