Qatar is to get a new set of phone numbers after Vodafone Qatar launched three new ranges of numbers, it was reported on Wednesday.
Vodafone Qatar has launched a new range of numbers starting with 300, 301 and 302, according to a report in the Doha-based The Peninsula newspaper.
Customers can buy special sought after phone numbers, known as Vodafone Star Numbers, such as 30200000, 30100000, 30199999, 30066666, 30100000 or 30222222, for QAR250 ($68.77), while all other standard numbers are free of charge.
“With a growing customer base that’s reached more than 500,000, it’s great that we’ve got a new number range. We’re thrilled to be giving our new and existing customers more great numbers to choose from and hope that they enjoy them alongside all our special services and promotions,” said Michael Portz, chief marketing officer, Vodafone Qatar.
In July, Vodafone Qatar releases its first quarter financial results and reported an adjusted loss of QAR8.8m ($2.42m) for the quarter to June 30, compared to QAR28.7m ($7.89m) last quarter, a quarterly drop of 69 percent.
It now has 534,000 customers, up fifteen percent on the last quarter, bringing its share of the customer market to nineteen percent.
