Saudi Arabia on Friday announced the lifting of air travel restrictions from countries where flights were previously banned due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has issued new instructions to all air carriers operating in the kingdom’s airports, regarding the lifting of the suspension of direct entry to the kingdom.
The circular allows passengers coming from Indonesia, Pakistan, Brazil, Vietnam, Egypt and India to enter Saudi Arabia without the need to spend 14 days outside these countries before entering into the kingdom.
However, they must spend five days in quarantine regardless of their vaccination status outside the kingdom, according to a statement carried by Saudi Press Agency.
GACA said the new rules will take effect from next Wednesday.
GACA added that all carriers should continue to educate travellers about the importance of adhering to all precautionary and preventive measures adopted in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia started easing restrictions against Covid-19 in October with the wearing of face masks no longer mandatory in outdoor spaces.
In recent months, Saudi Arabia, with a population of around 34 million, has seen a significant decline in virus infections amid its mass vaccination campaign against Covid-19.
