Aqua Dunya LLC has appointed a number of contracting, design and engineering firms to help it build the US $1.8 billion Aqua Dunya Resort and Residences in Dubailand.
Forrec of Toronto Canada has been appointed to begin the design of an indoor and outdoor theme park and port district, which will be operated by Jumeirah. Forrec has designed projects for Universal Studios and Legoland.
Aedas (Middle East) Ltd will design phase 1 of a residential community, including 1000 apartments and townhouses, a 200-room economy hotel and a waterfront esplanade of restaurants and shops.
Wilbur Smith Associates will design all infrastructure components for the entire site, including power, water, telecom, district cooling, water treatment, landscaping and road systems.
Turner and Townsend International has been appointed project manager for the development, with responsibility for overall implementation, design management, scheduling, procurement, cost and quality management, safety, on-going reporting and project closeout.

Aqua Dunya Resort and Residences is a water-themed resort spread across more than 60 hectares. It includes two theme parks, three themed hotels, a retail and dining district, an 1800-seat waterfront theatre, a nine-hole golf course, and 755 timeshare apartments. An adjacent residential community will offer over 3400 freehold residences for sale.
