Atlantis hotel services complete

Atlantis, The Palm moves towards internal fit-out stage.

The main mechanical services corridor for the Atlantis, The Palm resort has been completed, signalling a major step towards the finishing stages of the construction work.

The completion of the mechanical services corridor in the lower level of the development will enable air conditioning to be switched on in some areas of the resort by May 2007. This is essential to allow internal fit-out works on the site.

“We are gearing up to see the exterior completion of much of the resort buildings by the end of this year, while some buildings…where the façade is now complete, will begin to take on their final design elements in the summer when we begin installing domes and turrets,” stated Jim Boocher, president of project developer Kerzner International.

The services corridor runs for around one kilometre through the heart of the resort on the Jumeirah Palm, Dubai. It will for the service centre for back-of-house operations and logistics when the resort is complete.

Atlantis, The Palm is a US $1.5 billion joint venture of Kerzner International and Dubai Government-owned Istithmar. Due to open in November 2008. the 42-acre development will include a 1,539-room hotel and the Aquaventure water park.
