Emirates District Cooling Company (Emicool) is expanding its infrastructure in response to the ongoing construction boom in Dubai.
The company is in the process of setting up eight different plant rooms ranging from 15,000TR to 75,000TR, in addition to a complete underground pipe distribution network, energy transfer stations and completely wireless BTU metering systems worth over US $680 million (AED2.5 billion), which will be invested over a period of three to five years.
Emicool is currently involved in several major projects including the Dubai Investments Park Green Community Phase One and Two, Ewan Residences, Dubai Lagoon, Dubai Crown City, the Ritaj residential project, and the Essa Development, which includes the newly launched Palisades project. It is also supplying 100,000 tonnes of refrigeration to residential and commercial projects at Dubai Motor City.
Emicool is a joint venture between M’Sharie, a subsidiary of Dubai Investments, and Union Properties PJSC.
“Our expertise and facilities will enable us to efficiently execute several multi-billion dirham projects within and outside the UAE, we are focused on strengthening our infrastructure to help us successfully undertake any new project,” said Fouad Younan, general manager, Emicool.
“We are also on the lookout for new systems and technologies to optimise existing and future operations and boost efficiency.”
