UAE emirate Ras Al Khaimah is to build a 325-room Hilton Beach Hotel as part of an expansion of its Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Resort and Spa.
The government yesterday signed a contract with Construction Technology Contracting (CTC) for the development of the AED 300 million ($81.7 million) five-star hotel, which will be designed to look like an Arabian fortress.
“The project would set new benchmarks in terms of design, quality and luxury and would turn out to be a remarkable resort with a one-kilometre long private beach front, which is very unique in [the] UAE,” said Sheikh Faisal bin Saqr Al Qasimi, chairman of RAK Finance Department.
The hotel marks the second phase in the construction of the Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Resort and Spa, which already has 151 chalets – with another 330 chalets expected to open by late 2008 – and a 2,000 square metre spa.
