Tim Cook, the chief executive of tech giant Apple, saw his total pay package decline by more than 30 percent in 2023 to $63.2 million.
This drop comes after feedback from shareholders and a request from Cook himself to rework executive compensation.
Last year, Apple announced that Cook had asked for his target pay to be reduced to around $49 million.
While the CEO’s base salary remained stable at $3 million, his stock awards for 2023 fell sharply from $82-83 million in the prior two years to just under $47 million.
According to the company’s annual proxy filing, published Thursday, other top leaders like Chief Financial Officer Luca Maestri and Chief Operating Officer Jeff Williams saw their salaries hold steady over the past three years.
