Free Wi-Fi internet access is available at Abu Dhabi International Airport, it was announced on Sunday.
Fifty new internet kiosks are now also up-and-running in the airport’s recently opened Terminal 3.
A total of 65 touch screen kiosks which offer 20 minutes free internet access per session are now operational in the airport.
The Wi-Fi access provides one hour of free access per session, Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) said in a statement. Users are allowed to reconnect for further sessions.
“This is an important part of ADAC’s commitment to the highest standards of airport facilities, and to providing a quality visitor experience for all our passengers, whether they be departing or in transit,” said Sheikha Al Maskari, vice president of corporate affairs at ADAC.
“From the current statistics showing the number of people utilising the service, we can tell this is a popular development in our customer service programme.”
Some 250,000 sessions registered in a recent twenty day period, ADAC said. The most popular websites visited are social networking sites Facebook and Twitter, news sites CNN and BBC and personal email sites such as Google and Yahoo mail.
