Nortel has followed up its recent appointment of Aptec as a distributor for its SMB portfolio by signing Mantrac and Bright Star to address specific markets within the Middle East and North Africa region.
Mantrac will target SMB resellers in Egypt, while Bright Star is set to perform the same function in Saudi Arabia.
The addition of Mantrac and Bright Star to Nortel’s SMB distribution roster fills the gaps in its coverage that were not included in the agreement it made with Aptec earlier this month. Aptec is authorised to serve Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar and Syria, but not Egypt or Saudi.
Along with these distributors, Nortel will also embark on a regional road show to educate resellers on its SMB voice and data solution and to highlight its SMB partner programs focused on differentiating its resellers and improving partner profitability.
Nortel will continue the reseller recruitment program throughout the year with the aim to recruit 30 SMB partners across the Middle East by the end of 2007.

Nortel’s SMB reseller road show kicks off in Dubai on the 12th March at The Al Murooj Rotana Hotel in a joint event with Aptec Gulf. The road show continues on the 14th of March at The Marriot Zamalek Hotel in Egypt in conjunction with Mantrac IT Distribution.
