Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched a new service which will enable clients to pay fines for all vehicles registered under the federal traffic system in the UAE in instalments using credit cards, it was announced on Wednesday.
“RTA has launched this service to enable clients to pay fines due to RTA in easy instalments through credit cards over a period of one year without incurring bank interests,” said Ahmed Al Kaabi, the executive director of finance at RTA’s corporate administrative support services sector.
Al Kaabi added that the service is currently available for clients holding seven different credit cards: Mashreq Bank, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Dubai Islamic Bank, EmiratesNBD, Noor Bank, Emirates Islamic Bank and Commercial Bank International.
“More banks will be added in future, and the payment process is required to be completed through [the] RTA Dubai app,” he added.
The service is offered to all vehicles in the UAE and has no limit on amounts due to RTA. Instalments, however, are only allowed if the accumulated fines amount to AED 5,000 for individuals and AED 20,000 for companies.
