Dubai to Sharjah ferry: Booking, stations, cost explained

Here is all you need to know about the Ferry service

Dubai-Sharjah ferry trips take around 35 minutes and are an alternative commute option between the two emirates

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) resumed the marine transportation service between two Emirates in the UAE. The Dubai to Sharjah ferry will connect the Al Ghubaiba Station in Dubai to the Sharjah Aquarium Marine Station.

On Wednesday, RTA said, “Commuting from #Dubai to Sharjah via Ferry? Depart from Al Ghubaiba Station in Dubai and arrive at Sharjah Aquarium Marine Station smoothly. To book a ticket, visit rta.ae

Here is all you need to know about the service:

Marine ticket bookings

Bookings can be made via the official RTA website.

  • The process takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.
  • No account creation is required.
  • Tickets can be purchased in four steps.

Step 1

  • Select area, mode and route of trip.
  • Choose date and time

Step 2

  • Choose type of ticket (Gold Class or Silver Class).

Step 3

  • Add personal details – name, e-mail address and contact number.

Step 4

  • Confirm and pay via credit card, net banking or Noqodi.

Benefits of booking online

  • Multiple ticket bookings
  • Ability to purchase tickets three months in advance
  • Ability to specify date and time (limited quota)

Cost

There are two ticket classes available for the Ferry, similar to that of the Dubai Metro compartments.

  • Gold Class – AED25
  • Silver Class – AED15
  • Free of charge for People of Determination and children under five.

The marine transport service will be running eight journeys a day from Monday to Thursday and six journeys from Friday to Sunday.

Bookings can also be done at the Customers Services Desk at the Station and using a nol card.
