An Etihad flight from Sri Lanka to the UAE was forced to return to its departure airport after a mid-air bird strike.
Etihad Airways flight E395 from Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) to Abu Dhabi Zayed International Airport (AUH) on Tuesday, September 3 returned to Colombo shortly after take-off due to a bird strike.
In a statement, the airline said: “We apologise for the disruption caused by this event, and our teams are doing their best to assist you with your travel arrangements.

“The safety and comfort of our guests and crew is our number one priority. We apologise for any disruption to your travel plans”.
Following an inspection of the aircraft, and a delay of around five hours, the passengers were successfully and safely transported from Colombo to Abu Dhabi.
