Dubai’s RTA has announced road closures for major routes across the city when the UAE Tour Women 2023 cycling race takes to the streets on Thursday, February 9. 

The major international cycling event will see many of the world’s top riders go head-to-head in a race across the UAE between February 9 and February 12.

The race is split into four stages, with the first being staged between Port Rashid and Dubai Harbour on Thursday, February 9.

Major Dubai road closures

The RTA took to social media to warn motorists of delays on roads in the city.

19 roads will be affected with the peloton of cyclists predicted to close roads for up to 15 minutes at a time as the bikes and entourage of support vehicles pass through Dubai.

The road closures will occur between 1.30pm and 5pm.

Affected roads will be Port Rashid to Al Khaleej Street, Infinity Bridge, Baniyas Road, Al Rabat Street, Tripoli Street, Sheikh Zayed Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, Manama Street, Ras Al Khor Street, Al Meydan Street, Al Hadiqa Street, Al Wasl Street, Al Qudra Street, Hessa Street, Sports City, Al Fay Road, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Service Road, King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud Street, Dubai Harbour.

The RTA has advised motorists to plan journeys in advance and allow extra time to arrive at intended destinations.

The UAE Tour Women 2023 will progress around the UAE before ending up in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.  

  • Stage 1: Port Rashid – Dubai Harbour (109 KM)
  • Stage 2: Al Dhafra Castle – Al Mirfa (133 KM)
  • Stage 3: Hazza bin Zayed Stadium – Jebel Hafeet (107 KM)
  • Stage 4: Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy – Abu Dhabi Breakwater (119 KM).
