A Saudi Arabian Airlines Airbus A300 was forced to
crash land yesterday after the plane’s landing equipment malfunctioned, Arab
News reported.
The plane, which was flying to Jeddah’s
King Abdulaziz International Airport from Medina, declared an emergency and arranged for a belly
landing – one where the planes landing gears have not descended – upon arrival.

Al-Khaibary, a spokesman for the General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA),
said the pilot radioed the control tower upon realising the technical glitch.
The plane was not carrying any civilian passengers and none of the ten crew members were injured.
