Jumeirah launches new China hotel in Zaha Hadid-designed development

Located on the banks of the Yangtze River, the hotel is located on floors 39 to 67 of the North Tower within the prestigious International Youth Cultural Centre (IYCC) of the Hexi New District

Jumeirah Group has announced the launch of the Jumeirah Nanjing in China on September 10, which the company said is part of a multi-phase expansion around the world.

Located on the banks of the Yangtze River, the hotel is located on floors 39 to 67 of the North Tower within the prestigious International Youth Cultural Centre (IYCC) of the Hexi New District.

The complex was designed by the late Zaha Hadid, who took inspiration from a sailing ship in a bid to capture Nanjing’s blend of traditional ad cosmopolitan style.

The Jumeirah Nanjing includes 212 rooms and 49 suites, as well as a number of F&B outlets.

“Jumeirah Nanjing is a stunning addition to our portfolio and we are exceedingly proud to be selected as guardians of such a significant property,” said Jumeirah Group CEO José Silva. “The International Youth Cultural Centre is an architectural masterpiece and its iconic stature is truly impressive.”

Silva added that he believes Jumeirah Nanjing “will boost tourism to the city, and represents a significant milestone in achieving our global expansion strategy.”

The addition of the Jumeirah Nanjing brings the company’s portfolio to 22 hotels and resorts around the world.
