UAE-based leading luxury lifestyle restaurant group Fundamental Hospitality announced plans to accelerate its global expansion with the launch of the Pan-Asian fine dining eatery, Shanghai Me, in London.
The Asian-inspired eatery will also bring to London its signature Bund Lounge, a richly decorated nightlife spot that embraces a high-energy atmosphere and a diverse music ambience.
Shanghai Me will be opened on the legendary 28th floor of the London Hilton on Park Lane, making it the highest rooftop restaurant in Mayfair, the hospitality group said.
The group said its Bund Lounge will be London’s Mayfair street’s highest cocktail bar.
Shanghai Me and Bund Lounge are slated to be opened in early 2025.
“Shanghai Me, one of the most successful restaurants in Dubai and seen as the epitome of luxury dining, will bring an undisrupted view of London’s world-renowned Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park and Central London,” Fundamental Hospitality said in a media release.
“The interiors will reflect 1930’s Shanghai commissioned by Richard Saunders, from the carefully curated table designs to the embellished garnet red walls, it’s the rebirth of Shanghai’s golden era at the heart of London,” it added.
The group said Shanghai Me’s menu will offer a sumptuous take to the long-held traditions of authentic Chinese fare, with executive chef Yukitaka Kitade’s speciality dishes such as Roast Duck with Foie Gras & Caviar, Wagyu in Chestnut Pumpkin in Chilli Garlic Sauce, Silver Cod with Yuzu Miso Sauce, Coconut Flan with Ginger Ice Cream and Pistachio Mont Blanc Cake.
Shanghai Me Dubai was originally inspired by the art deco of Shanghai in the 1930’s, bringing a bygone era to life.
The first half of 2024 saw significant global expansion by Fundamental Hospitality with international launches of GAIA Marbella, exclusive members club NYX Marbella & NYX Monaco, La Maison Ani London and in Dubai, Maison de la Plage, and Izu Burger.
The group is also gearing up for an imminent launch of Sirene – described as the most luxurious lifestyle beach concept ever being built in the world and in Dubai, offering a luxurious, all-encompassing beachfront experience.
Maison de la Plage, the group’s first-ever restaurant-led beach resort, will also introduce its exclusive after-hours speakeasy, ‘La Sombra’ in Q3 of 2024.
