Saudi airport issues advice on luggage banned for all passengers

Saudi Arabia's King Abdulaziz International Airport announced list of banned items in airport luggage

An airport in Saudi Arabia has issued advice on banned luggage types for all passengers.

Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport has informed passengers not to travel with certain baggage.

The airport shared the advice on social media, informing passengers which luggage would not be allowed on planes.   

Saudi luggage ban

According to King Abdulaziz International Airport, the following baggage is not permitted:

  • Bags tied with rope           
  • Cloth-wrapped bags         
  • Round and irregularly shaped baggage   
  • Baggage exceeding ticket weight restrictions       
  • Cloth luggage        
  • Baggage with long straps

In a separate post the airport shared top tips on easing travel procedures in Jeddah.

It told passengers to:     

  • Make sure the weight of bags matches the allowance specified on tickets                
  • Issue boarding passes before arriving at the airport             
  • Bring passport and ID on journeys          
  • Arrive at airport two hours early for domestic flights and three hours for international flights
