Swiss-Belhotel takes over four-star hotel in Sharjah

Previously named Sharjah Rotana, Swiss-Belhotel Sharjah is the company’s third property in the UAE

Hospitality management chain Swiss-Belhotel International has announced the takeover of a hotel in Sharjah as it continues its expansion in the UAE.

With the takeover of Swiss-Belhotel Sharjah, the company said it has increased its Middle East portfolio to 12 operating and project hotels.

Previously named Sharjah Rotana, Swiss-Belhotel Sharjah is located close to the Arts and Heritage area and Rolla Souk.

Gavin M Faull, Swiss-Belhotel International chairman and president, said: “This is our third hotel in the United Arab Emirates following Swiss-Belhotel Corniche and Swiss-Belresort Ghantoot in Abu Dhabi and we are excited to bring the group’s passion and professionalism in this very dynamic market.

“Being part of Sharjah, the city that invested considerable resources in building a strong cultural heritage and was named as UNESCO’s Arab Capital of Culture in 1998, we will ensure that with our international standards in place, the hotel will highlight local hospitality and promote its rich and captivating flavours,” Faull added.

The four-star rated Swiss-Belhotel Sharjah features 205 rooms, four meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 100 people, a lobby café and an all-day-dining restaurant.

The hotel also offers a daily scheduled shuttle bus to Dubai as well as private transfers to the beach.

The group’s other properties in the region are Swiss Belhotel Plaza Kuwait and Swiss-Belhotel Doha, Qatar, soon be joined by Swiss-Belinn Ghurbrah, Oman, Swiss-Belhotel Riyadh, Swiss-Belboutique Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Swiss-Belhotel Stenden Doha, Qatar, Grand Swiss-Belhotel Batumi, Georgia and Swiss-Belhotel Erbil, Iraq.

The company has targeted managing 250 hotels and resorts around the world by 2022.
