The World Cup 2022 in Qatar is expected to be one of the most watched FIFA soccer tournaments, with requests for more than 23 million tickets for various games, the World Cup body president said.
“The matches in Qatar will be watched by more than 5 billion people worldwide, Gianni Infantino, President of FIFA, told an audience at the Future Investment Initiative (FII) event in Riyadh, SPA reported.
Participated virtually in a session titled ‘Why Football Rules the World?’ at FII, Infantino said the FIFA World Cup 2022 would be a worldwide cultural phenomenon that conveys a humanitarian message via the consent of all peoples to share passions, interests, and cultures.
“Millions of visitors will have the chance to learn about the Arab Gulf culture and warm hospitality during the World Cup,” the FIFA President said.
“The World Cup is a worldwide event that transcends sports and is a global cultural and social movement involving all peoples in the world,” he added.
