Dubai's DMCC says nearly 2,000 new firms added in 2019

Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) has announced that it registered 1,969 new companies in 2019, a signal of strong investor confidence in Dubai.

DMCC finished last year with the strongest Q4 registrations in four years, the free zone revealed in a statement.

It added that a total of 559 companies signed-up in the fourth quarter, a 20 percent increase on the same period in 2018.

This follows the registration of 202 new member companies in October, the highest figure in a single month for two years.Overall, registrations grew 5.4 percent year-on-year, DMCC said.

It added that it continues to attract foreign direct investment to Dubai from key international markets including China and India.
