Oman announces 786 new Covid-19 cases

Officials from Oman’s Ministry of Health have detected 786 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the country, it was announced on Monday.

According to government statistics, Oman’s total number of confirmed cases since the Covid-19 pandemic began now stands at 12,223.

Oman’s death toll to date now stands at 50.

Additionally, Omani officials have said that 2,682 patients have so far recovered from the virus.

Last week, Oman announced it was ending its Covid-19 lockdown of Muscat governorate on Friday as the sultanate eases restrictions and moves to reopen the economy.

The lockdown had been in place since April 10.

According to the state-run Oman News Agency, the move will facilitate traffic between Muscat and other parts of the country.
